Beedle the Bard cause of price war
By Ren | September 1, 2008
In the U.K., Amazon, Waterstones, and Tesco are all engaged in a vigorous price war over the upcoming publication of JK Rowling’s The Tales of Beedle the Bard in a bid to sell the most copies. The book, which will be released in early December, can be pre-ordered online from all three companies for £3.49 ($6.61), which is half as much as the retail price of £6.99 ($13.26).
According to ThisIsMoney.co.uk, it is possible that Beedle the Bard “could be the top-selling book at Christmas” if sales continue to heat up.
