Rupert Grint’s Fans Secure Film Release!

    By Alyssa | October 5, 2009

We all know about the power of the people, but it appears we have a new wave of power of the fan girls! Thanks to his dedicated base of loyal fans, Rupert Grint’s newest film “Cherrybomb” has secured a deal to be released in the UK in a move credited entirely to their online petition. The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year but was unable to find a distributor which meant the film may never have seen the light of the cinema.

    Cue Rupert’s fans!

Thanks to their loyalty, online petition and lobbying of the film industry, the movie is now set to be released in 2010. Grint is obviously delighted by the perseverance and dedication shown by his supporters.

“I’m delighted by the huge support the film has already received on the official Facebook page and other sites on the web and am so grateful to my fans in particular, who have travelled the world to support the film at festivals and preview screenings.”
