Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has picked up three nominations for the 2010 Peoples choice awards. The nominations include:

Favourite Franchise: Other nominees include Ice Age, Terminator, Transformers and X-Men

Favourite Movie: Other nominees include Twilight, Terminator: Salvation, Angels and Demons and The Hangover

Favourite On Screen Team: (For Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint)

The show will be telecast live on CBS on January 6th, 2010 from Los Angeles.

Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince DVD out on December 8th in U.S.

It was announced earlier today that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released on DVD in the United States on December 8th. They will be releasing a one disc copy and a two disc special edition copy. The synopsis for the DVD is:

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemorts defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, Harry discovers an old book marked mysteriously “This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince” and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past.
