    Beedle the Bard Book Review

    By Manda | December 28, 2008

BlogCritics.org author Richard Marcus has posted a review of JKR’s most recent work, The Tales of Beedle the Bard. It is one of the more structurally sound, and therefore more reliable, reviews that has popped up on the net over recent weeks because it tells people who have not yet read the book what they can expect from it:

“You’ll notice some obvious differences and similarities between Beedle’s tales and the ones told by the non-magical community. The most obvious of the former is of course the fact that magic is taken for granted in the stories, and not something supernatural that the hero or heroine must overcome. Unlike our stories the female characters don’t just wait around for someone to come and rescue them as they are every bit as capable as the male characters at getting in and out of scrapes. However, much like many of our stories each of Beedle’s tales contains a life lesson for the young witch or wizard reading the tale that stress the importance of personal attributes like tolerance, forbearance, love, and generosity.”

    Jason Isaacs on Deathly Hallows

    By Manda | December 22, 2008

At a Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival, The Jerusalem Post caught up with actor Jason Isaacs, who was promoting his latest role in the movie Good, to ask him what he thinks about the splitting of Deathly Hallows into two films. “I think it’s a big mistake,” he said. “It should be made into ten films so I can do it for the rest of my life.”

He described playing the role of Lucius Malfoy as “unfettered fun” and said Malfoy’s focus on “racial purity” sounds to him “like right-wing political campaigning.” He went on to further discuss his view of the character he plays.

“I don’t want to look at the serious side of it. It was too much fun. It was an opportunity for me to play like my kids play, and to chew up the scenery with some of the greatest actors in the world…They prove that it’s not true that an unhappy film set makes for a good film…”

    New Half-Blood Prince Photo!

    By Manda | December 19, 2008

A new image of Harry and Ron has surfaced on a site dedicated to Rupert Grint, which you can view in our galleries here. The accompanying article translates roughly to the following:

Ron and Harry watch Professor Slughorn in a corridor… What I like in this scenario is that Ron is more in the heart of history. His relationship with Harry has evolved. Ron, who has always been the joker boyfriend, is much more mature now. In fact, it has almost become a mature man before the hour! He became a little arrogant and realizes that girls are interested in him. His relationship with Harry is quite funny. Harry will serve him well to achieve a sense ends with Slughorn.

Why Emma Watson Was Hearing Voices

    By Rachelle | December 15, 2008

As we all know, Emma Watson’s new film The Tale of Despereaux comes out in theaters this Friday.  Emma Watson began doing voice recording for her role as Princess Pea while she was, also, still filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, therefore she states that it was very hard to leave her ‘Hermione’ persona with the Order of the Phoenix film set and come to the Despereaux film set with the voice of the Princess.  Emma also describes that she was hearing voices, but they were her own voice.  She said that when she would begin voice recording for the Princess she would second guess herself also asking herself if the previous line sounded like Hermione talking or the Princess.

Emma also has many other things on her mind like, being the knew face for Chanel perfume Coco Mademoiselle, replacing Keira Knightley, and still 3 more Potter films to come out.  Half-Blood Prince comes out in July 2009, and filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 begins in February 2009.

According to our sources, Warners is still trying to figure out exactly how to make this work. But there’s definitely a strong interest in making Tales of Beedle The Bard: The Movie happen, once Harry Potter is over with.

    Emma has Nude Ambitions

    By Pickett | December 9, 2008

Emma Watson has finally reached that age that Britney Spears chronicled in a song long ago.  The starlet says, “not a woman yet, but I’m not a girl anymore.”  Watson went on to say that if the right role cropped up for her, she would definitely consider a nude scene.

“Yes,” she says. “For Bernardo Bertolucci. It … depends. I’m not getting my kit off any time soon, but it is part of my job.”
