Witch of the month: February 2009
The Witch of this month, can be found in the house of Slytherin. Ever since she joined our forums, she’s been a model member that many can take an example of. Her posts often reflect the fun person who likes to make fun of people (We so stole that line from her profile) If you haven’t met her yet, you definitely should, but for starters, you can read all about her if you go to the main page and click on the WotM linkage in the right sidebar.

1) You’re Wizard of the Month.. what’s your first reaction?
I’d like to thank my mum, dad, brother and sister, boyfriend, all the wonderful people on DM, and Dell. Especially Dell. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. Was there any prize money involved?
2) You’ve been on Darkmark some time, however did you end up in this place?
By means of my magical googling-skills. Seriously. I typed in ‘Harry Potter board’ and DM stood out from the mass of forums and boards by sheer coolness ![]()
3) Most remarkable moment you had on Darkmark.com?
Ooh… I guess the trick or treat with Halloween was definitely the coolest moment I had so far. Plus, it got me into Slytherin pre-100 posts and that’s a decision I’ll never regret. ![]()
4) What’s your favorite of the Harry Potter books?
Tough one. It’s a close call between The Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows, but I think OotP is the best. It’s good, it finally shows that Harry really is a bad-tempered, annoying little boy and not the great hero everyone thinks he is, Rowling did a great job showing how annoying it can be when you’re not trusted and not taken seriously, plus, it holds a great deal of Sirius-ness. But DH was also very good. I was so relieved to find out that JKR actually could finish a book properly without resorting to cliché cliffhangers and the likes… I mean, almost every book ended with a sentence like ‘But Harry knew that the next year would not be a walk in the park for him…’ DUNDUNDUN! ![]()
5) And of course we also want to know your favorite character
Hello, Sirius of course! Or Luna. Or Ron. Or Ginny. Or… Pfoar, this is more difficult to answer than I thought it was. I can’t really decide, either. Luna rocks, she’s the wackiest person in the series but she’s so loving and nice too. Completely the opposite of Hermione and Ginny. But Ginny is the coolest chick in Hogwarts. And Sirius is just yum. And Ron is the trusty side-kick everyone should have and at the same time extremely funny. So this is impossible to answer with just one name…
6) What do you think of the Harry Potter movies?
They’re nice. It’s good entertainment and they’re nice overviews of the entire story. But it’s such a pity they leave so much out of them. I know it’s practically impossible to include everything, that would mean they’d have to make 7-hour films.. So I like to watch them, but I see them as a separate part of the Harry Potter spectrum.
7) Tell us a little something about your daily life?
Let’s see.. I’m a 20-year old student of English, I’m currently doing my last year of BA and I’m planning on doing a translations-major next year, I also work in a book store which is hell for me because I get a 20% discount and am addicted to books, I live together with my boyfriend, I hardly watch any tv but if I do it’s either for Supernatural or CSI or something terribly corny like the X-factor or Idols. I love to write and have only recently found out that trying to write something original about vampires is impossible and either makes you sound like a perverted teenager who is secretly in love with Lestat or like someone who is desperately not trying to make it sound like a White Wolf-ripoff. I’ve only recently joined the LJ-community for that purpose only, I wanted to post my stories somewhere, but I’m so hooked now that I’m posting almost daily. And most of that are not story-related posts… I’m also quite the fanatical WoW-er, and I’m not afraid to admit it. And, last but not least, I love rubber duckies and have a collection of about 30 perched on top of a cabinet in our living room.
8 ) Any goals you want to reach in the future?
That depends, is there also a Wizard of the Year-title?
9) Your motto or favorite saying is:
If all goes to hell… No, kidding. I don’t know, really. I’m not a motto-loving type of person, so I’ll go with ‘having fun doesn’t kill you. Grizzly-bears, they’ll kill you.’ (haven’t a clue where it’s from, but it’s good.)
10) Who would you recommend for next month?
Pffff… I don’t know. The first name that comes to mind is Willow Waters, but I guess that’s just because she’s new and very active. I’ll just let you guys do the picking, alright?
