Wizard of the Month; February 2010
Our Wizard of the Month this month is a long term member who has done a lot for DM over the years. He has participated in numerous DM events, Modded some of our areas and now is starting a one man revolution to breath new life into RP, so please send your congratulations to Obsidian Dawn for being February’s Wizard of the month!
1) You’re Wizard of the Month.. what’s your first reaction?
Surprise honestly. I didn’t think I did much on DM, especially not enough to be tossed WoTM. I appreciate it, definitely, but feel someone else would have been more deserving.
2) You’ve been on darkmark some time, however did you end up in this place?
Quite simply, I came for the RP. After reading the series, as far as it had been published at the time, I thought it would have made an interesting RP. So I searched. Found DM, but it was down. So I technically first joined DM2. After it came back up I made the move.
3) Most remarkable moment you had on Darkmark.com?
I think the most remarkable thing is the people I’ve met through DM. I’ve met several members in person, and even had a long term relationship with one. She ended up being a crazy overbearing harpy though. Don’thurtmeAly. Some of the people I have met on DM have changed my life, quite literally, and I’d like to think I’d done the same.
4) What’s your favorite of the Harry Potter books?
I did enjoy Deathly Hallows. It took a chance and left Hogwarts behind completely, and so totally shattered the mold that had been built for the series that I enjoyed it.
5) And of course we also want to know your favorite character.
Gotta be Tonks. I wish she’d have had more time in the series, as you really didn’t get to know her. Bellatrix too, because she was crazy. Someone already knows my stance on Bellatrix. >_>
6) What do you think of the Harry Potter movies?
If you take them for what they are, and try not to dwell too much on the books that made them, I feel they’re great. Aside from a few facepalm corny moments, they’re genuinely entertaining.
7) Tell us a little something about your daily life?
At the moment it’s pretty drab. I’ve been helping my family a lot, and trying to sort out some financial issues caused by the wonderful US Government.
8 ) Any goals you want to reach in the future?
I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I’ve felt more emotion reading someone’s work than any movie or Television show has ever given me. More than anything I’d like to pass the on to another generation, or even my generation.
9) Your motto or favorite saying is:
I’m more of a catch-phrase guy than one for motto’s. I think a motto defines you too much, makes you conform to meet that. I suppose one I use often is “When it rains, it poors.” Stupid Murphy’s Law.
10) Who would you reccommend for next month?
Oh it’s not my place to say anyone. I don’t think I know who deserves it more than anyone else, and in this instance my opinion is pretty much worth little. There are probably dozens of people who deserve recognition, more than I do.
