JKR Wins Privacy Court Case Appeal!

With the whole JKR.v.Lexicon business going on, it's nice to know that there is definitely something in the legal world that JKR can celebrate. Last year JK lost a court battle to protect the privacy of her children; with the case revolving mainly around a long-lens photo taken of her son back in 2004.

Thankfully, JK today appealed against this decision and won! Well done, Jo! Ms. Rowling and her husband, Dr. Neil Murray, released this statement -

We understand and accept that with the success of Harry Potter there will be a measure of legitimate media and public interest in Jo's professional activities and appearances.

However, we have striven to give our children a normal family life outside the media spotlight.

We are immensely grateful to the court for giving our children protection from covert, unauthorised photography; this ruling will make an immediate and material difference to their lives.

Thanks to HPANA.
