| Ten Years Have Passed... |
|
That is right folks, in the magical realm of the Harry Potter series, it has been ten years today since Harry defeated Lord Voldemort during the final battle in Hogwarts. When the clocks struck midnight on 2nd of May, 1998 the final battle started. It is true that the minor hostilites between the two sides started on the 1st of May, but the Final Battle didn't start until midnight when Voldemorts final ultimatum expired and the real battle begin. We will all remember the scene unfolding as we read, truly, one of the most amazing scenes that Jo has ever bestowed upon us. Sadly, today also marks the ten year anniversary of the death of Fred Weasley, Tonks, Remus Lupin, and countless others. They died bravely fighting for what they thought was right, and I'm sure tears were spilled in both the fictional world of Harry Potter, and from Jo's loyal readers. Raise you glasses to Harry and his triumphant win over Lord Voldemort ten years ago, and bow your heads in memory for all the losses suffered, and the death of characters we all grew to love. |
